KMD welcomes Jon Gray in the role of Director at KMD’s San Francisco Office. Jon has over 25 years of experience with medical and academic facilities, providing operations and project management, and design team leadership for all phases of design and construction for projects under a variety of delivery methods. We sat down and chatted with Jon and learned some interesting facts about him.

Background

Jon graduated with a double-major from Brown University where he received a Bachelor of Art in both Engineering and Studio Art. An overriding aversion to differential equations prevented him from fully embracing his roots in Engineering and so he took the next logical step into the world of Architecture; where numbers and calculations had the ability to transform into something more tangible and beautiful.

Why KMD?

Jon feels that KMD’s design philosophy closely aligns with his own and that our firm’s design capability could give him the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects. He also has his heart in San Francisco so the fact we are based in the Bay Area only sweetened the deal.

What does he hope to accomplish at KMD?

Jon’s vision is to build large, fully functioning teams and empower those teams to do outstanding work.

What does he enjoy outside of work?

He loves to sail and loves to spend time with his family. He has 12 year old twins; one is a football player and the other is interested in science and sailing.
